We’re hiring

Do you love being outside, working with babies and families, and enjoy making a good hot chocolate?

If so, we want to hear from you as we’re recruiting for a session leader for our baby club.

Muddy toes is part of The Outdoor Club CIC, a community-based, not-for-profit organisation, dedicated to getting families and individuals into the outdoors. We want all of our community to enjoy time in the fresh air, meet others, all whilst helping to improve physical and mental health.

What are we looking for? We’d love someone who enjoys being outside, interacting with others, is compassionate and has a desire to get involved. A good ability to problem solve, to be adaptable and work well with other team members and volunteers is essential.

What will you be doing?

Each week you’ll be setting up sessions ready to welcome our new parents and their babies to our outdoor venue in long buckby. This will involve filling flasks of hot water at our office, purchasing snacks and drinks and taking them to the venue. Once there, responsibilities include checking the site for hazards, opening up the cabin and porta-loo and setting up the outdoor space. We pop out blankets and baby toys as well as organising the hot drinks and snacks. You’ll give families a warm welcome, introducing yourself and others in the group. Help individuals settle in, make drinks and hand round the snack tray. Each week there’ll be a nature inspired snack which you’ll help parents to complete (this is entirely optional for parents). Once sessions have finished, there’ll be clearing away, leaving the site as it was found, return any equipment to the office and preparing for next week.
